What do we confess concerning Jesus Christ? We confess that Jesus Christ is the only Redeemer of God’s elect. Being the eternal Son of God, he became man for us and our salvation, and so he continues forever to be God and man, in two distinct natures and one person.
How did the Lord Jesus humble himself? The Lord Jesus humbled himself by being born in a low condition and under the law. He endured the miseries of life, the wrath of God, and the cursed death of the cross. He was buried and continued under the power of death for a time.
How has the Lord Jesus been exalted? The Lord Jesus has been exalted through his resurrection from the dead, through his ascension again to heaven, and through his enthronement at the right hand of God the Father. His exaltation will be seen by all when he returns to judge the living and the dead at the last day.
