CORPORATE PRAYER OF PRAISE AND CONFESSION (Selections from Paul’s Letter to the Romans)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

Father, we praise you the gospel is the good news of your power to save all who believe. Help us to never be ashamed to proclaim that good news to all people, for the glory of your Name.

None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. (Romans 3:10b-12)

Father, we confess we are the worst of sinners ourselves. Apart from your grace, we would not know you. Indeed, it was your grace that sought us before we sought you.

Silent prayer for private confession of trust in Jesus Christ

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1-2)

Father, we ask for your help to offer our lives to you in faithful devotion. Help us to grow in godliness that we might live in a way that brings you glory.
